Ringele AG:
Passionate about sheet metal for nearly a century
Ringele AG has been active in sheet-metal working and system construction for almost 100 years. The company serves customers all over the world from its site in Pratteln, Switzerland, developing and producing solutions in sheet metal that range from individual parts to complex systems.
Ringele AG specialises in sheet-metal working. For our customers in the medical technology, automation, measurement technology, semiconductor technology and railway sectors, we produce solutions in sheet metal for numerous applications. Our customers include SMEs, as well as Swiss, German and Austrian multinational corporations with global sales markets.
Our one-stop shop philosophy is driven by a high level of vertical integration. Our facility in Pratteln, Switzerland, has 13,000 square metres of production space where we process 2,200 tonnes of steel, chrome steel and aluminium every year, offering our customers a single-source solution for everything from individual parts to complex systems.
The products are always developed in close cooperation with our customers. Throughout this process, our team of around 200 employees not only draws on the knowledge and experience accumulating over almost a century of sheet-metal working, but also demonstrates great inquisitiveness and persistence. Our aim is to find optimal solutions, even for complex projects.
It is also part of our DNA to never stand still, but to constantly improve. Applying our own lean management standards, we keep reviewing all processes, making them leaner, less wasteful and more reliable. Customers benefit from a quick market roll-out, with consistently high quality and optimal costs.
Our history: From sheet-metal working to system supplier in just under a century
- 1927
Ringele started out in 1927 as a two-man business. Its two founders, Hans Ringele and Hermann Zanker, initially manufactured metal goods and handicraft products at their workshop in Binningen.
- 1961
Over the next three decades, the company focussed more and more on technical products. It continued to grow steadily, eventually employing over 60 people by 1961. That same year, it was converted into a public limited-liability company and moved to a new site in Bottmingen.
- 1995
A good 30 years later, the company was taken over in 1995 by Urs Leuenberger and Andreas Zurbrügg, as part of a succession plan. At that time, it had 78 employees. Under its new management, Ringele AG continued to specialise and gradually entered new sectors, starting with medical technology. In parallel, the production machinery was continually expanded and areas of expertise were added. To an increasing extent, the company evolved into a one-stop shop for its customers.
- 2001
With the Bottmingen site becoming cramped, Ringele AG moved in 2001 to its current site at the Buss industrial park in Pratteln. A few years later, management decided to organise operations to lean management standards, so it could constantly review and optimise the many areas of expertise, while also continually reducing waste at the company.
- 2022
Ringele AG became part of the Obermark Group at the beginning of 2022 as part of a sustainable succession solution. The company continues to be managed by Urs Leuenberger and Andreas Zurbrügg.
